Dermatologist Hair Loss Specialist: One Adaptive FUE Platform

Dermatologist Hair Loss Specialist: One Adaptive FUE Platform

Different donor areas can present very different FUE challenges. In this short video, dermatologist hair loss specialist Sanusi Umar, MD, presents UGraft Zeus as a skin-responsive platform designed to adapt across regular shaved scalp FUE, tightly curled hair FUE, long-hair FUE, and body-hair FUE.

Different FUE Scenarios, One Core Problem

Four donor scenarios illustrate the range of FUE applications: regular shaved FUE, Afro or tightly curled hair FUE, long-hair FUE, and body-hair FUE. Hair angle, follicle direction, skin thickness, and skin firmness can differ from one patient or donor area to another, changing the demands of graft extraction.

That variability is the problem UGraft Zeus was developed to address. Rather than presenting every donor scenario as if it were technically identical, Dr. Umar describes a system intended to respond when hair and skin characteristics change.

How UGraft Zeus Is Designed to Adapt

An Intelligent Punch and a skin-responsive driver are central parts of the platform. The physician selects the region of surgery, and the system calibrates automatically for the donor area. The emphasis is simplicity at the point of use: one platform designed for multiple known FUE scenarios rather than a separate device concept for each one.

UGraft Zeus is described as patented FUE technology and as the “most multicenter studied FUE device.” The supplied project information refers to three multicenter studies. The short does not present the study methods or results, so the practical focus remains on donor-region selection, automatic calibration, and a platform built around different hair and skin conditions.

What an Adaptive Platform Can Mean for a Practice

For a physician, the benefit presented in this video is operational as much as technical. A system that is designed to adjust to the selected donor region can give the practice one consistent platform for a broader range of FUE cases. That can simplify the technology a doctor must navigate when moving among shaved scalp, tightly curled, long-hair, and body-hair donor scenarios.

A hair transplant before and after image cannot establish whether the same approach is appropriate for another patient. Individual results vary, and suitability for FUE and treatment planning require an individual medical evaluation. The central idea is simple: when the donor conditions change, the extraction technology should be designed to respond.
